Return to Hobart

We drove to Field National Park (the most popular in Tassie) to see Russell Falls in the pouring rain. Verena choose to stay dry and have coffee at the impressive visitors centre. Suz, Niki and myself put on the raincoats and walked to the falls in the pouring rain. It was not that cold and we only had to drive back to Richmond - and I guess we felt some obligation to suffer for all the good weather we had had.

It rained continously for a few more hours, then as we drove down the Derwent Valley, things dried up. Looking for a case of wine from the numerous wineries on the way, we came across an astronomy dish,

After a late breakfast with the Glenns, we headed out for Mt Wellington, stopping the car near the top for a walk along the path below the Organ Pipes. Suz and I continued to the top while the others went back to the car to meet us at the top.

We managed some glimpses before cloud drifted back over. It rained steadily on the drive back down the mountain but the roads back in Hobart were dry.

A view of the famous Richmond Bridge over the Coal River from the bottom of the garden.

Last day and we say goodbye to the Glenns before catching up with Graham (still in Tassie) and onto the airport.
